Se vilken spännande "våg" Venus visar över ytan!

Än så länge är man inte helt klar över vågens karaktär, men det lutar åt något atmosfäriskt fenomen, en "gravity wave". 

"“There may exist a mechanism of gravity wave generation like a mountain wave or a thermal tide, which are found in the terrestrial atmosphere,” he said. “To answer this question we need more data that covers all local times and longitudes.”"

Vågen stannade på plats under fyra dagar.

"The scientists discovered the [Venusian atmosphere](https://www.space.com/18527-venus-atmosphere.html) received angular momentum though thermal tides, which are variations in atmospheric pressure driven by solar heating near the planet's equator. They also found planetary-scale waves in the atmosphere as well as large-scale atmospheric turbulence worked against this effect from thermal tides."
