# Jordlikande planet upptäckt
Author: Magi-cat

Det finns lite kul om Ross 128

On May 12, 2017, researchers observing Ross 128 picked up mysterious signals using the [Arecibo Observatory](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arecibo_Observatory "Arecibo Observatory"). Abel Méndez, an astrobiologist at the [University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Puerto_Rico_at_Arecibo "University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo"), said the star was observed for ten minutes, during which time the wide-band radio signal was "almost periodic" and decreased in frequency.[\[27\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-PHL-20170712-27) On July 16, 2017, the strange signal, at a low frequency never heretofore observed from a red dwarf, was reported on [Twitter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter "Twitter") by Méndez to have been "confirmed".[\[28\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-TW-20170716-28)[\[29\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-PHL-20170717-29)[\[30\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-NW-20170717-30)[\[31\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-TV-20170717-31)[\[32\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-TA-20170717-32) No such signals were detected in further follow-up studies by Arecibo, however, nor by the [Green Bank Telescope](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bank_Telescope "Green Bank Telescope") in West Virginia and the [Allen Telescope Array](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Telescope_Array "Allen Telescope Array") (ATA) in northern California, as well, suggesting the likelihood that the signals detected earlier were [radio frequency interference](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Frequency_Interference "Radio Frequency Interference") from an [artificial satellite](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_satellite "Artificial satellite") orbiting the Earth.[\[33\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-UCB-20170720-33)[\[34\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-PHL-20170721-34)[\[35\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ross_128#cite_note-SP-20170721-35)

Så vem vet? Dem har kanske kollat in oss 🙂
